HEALTHY ALOO PURI

In Indian family, everyone swears by Aloo Paranthas and Puris. Our Mothers won’t let us leave for schools and work without eating a Parantha, they even pack them in our Tiffin and we just can’t have enough because it is made with so much love and affection.

We know how kids of today’s generation are like; they don’t want to eat anything healthy. They are always SO attracted to the JUNK FOOD!! And Moms have really hard time feeding them something healthy. So today, we are bringing an old recipe with a little bit of twist.

Ingredients ( For Dough) 

1 cup whole wheat flour

4 tbs of Ghee (Clarified Butter)

Water (as required)

Make a well of Flour and add water to it. Knead it well, add ghee and make a soft dough.

Ingredients (For Stuffing)

2 medium boiled potato

50 gm cottage cheese

1 tbs of lotus seeds (Makhana)

1 tbs of cashew nut powder (Kaju)

1 tbs of oregano herb

Salt (as required)

Method :

  1. Mash boiled potatoes and cottage cheese.
  2. Add small pieces of Lotus seeds, powdered cashew nut, oregano and salt and mix it well.
  3. Make 4-5 balls of dough.
  4. Stuff the mixture into the dough and roll out like a Puri.
  5. Deep fry it.
  6. Serve it with Sweet Curd ( Misti Doi).

 

You can make these for your kids for breakfast and Tiffin Snacks, they will surely fall prey to them.
